Your exchange app is the worst place to keep your price alerts.
It sends the alert to the phone you're trying to stop checking. It only covers coins that exchange lists. It goes quiet when the app gets killed in the background. And if you ever move exchanges, every alert you set up goes with it.
Telegram fixes all four. You already have it open, it's on desktop and phone at the same time, and notifications actually arrive.
Why Telegram beats app notifications
- It's already open. No extra app to install, no extra login to remember.
- Desktop and mobile at once. The alert hits your laptop while you work, not just the phone in your pocket.
- It doesn't die in the background. Push notifications from a browser tab or an exchange app get throttled by your OS. Telegram doesn't.
- It's searchable. Every alert that fired is a message in a chat, so you have a free log of every level that got hit this month.
You don't need an exchange account for this
This is the part most people get stuck on. Price alerts don't require API keys, exchange logins, or read-only trading permissions. Price data is public. A tool that only watches prices never needs access to your funds — and you should be suspicious of any alert tool that asks for an API key to do something this simple.
If a price-alert service wants your exchange credentials, it's doing more than watching prices. Walk away.
Set your first Telegram alert in two minutes
- Open DoneRoad in your browser — no download, no account needed to look around.
- Pick your asset. Crypto, stocks, forex, gold, silver, or oil, all in the same place.
- Set the level and direction, e.g.
BTC < 74,000. - Read the plain-English preview. It should say exactly what you meant — if it doesn't, fix it now instead of finding out at 3am.
- Connect Telegram, hit save. Done.
Five alerts worth setting today
With BTC around $77.8k and ETH near $2.5k going into a nervous rate week, these are the levels worth being interrupted for:
BTC < 74,000— the breakdown level. Where "the range is holding" stops being true.BTC > 82,000— the reclaim. Trend idea back on the table.ETH < 2,400— alts losing their floor before the majors do, which usually leads.XAU > 4,200— money leaving risk for gold. The quietest signal on this list and often the earliest.WTI > 82— oil moving is an inflation story, and an inflation story is a rate story, and a rate story is a crypto story.
One rule before you set any of them
Put the level where your idea would be wrong, not where you're hoping price goes. Hope-levels never fire. Invalidation-levels save money.
And if you can't say in one sentence what you'll do when it fires, don't set it. An alert without a decision attached is just another notification you'll learn to swipe away.
