Confirmation before entry: XAUUSD < 4800 AND DXY < 98 — only ping me if gold hits my buy zone while the dollar is soft. This is where AND conditions earn their keep: it filters out the setups you'd have skipped anyway.
Portfolio check-in: XAUUSD > 5500 OR BTC > 130000 — for longer-horizon holders who only want to hear about milestone moves.
Why Telegram over email
Email is fine for a level you'll act on tomorrow. For anything intraday, Telegram wins — it's a push notification on a phone you're already holding, and it arrives in seconds. Easiest setup is both: Telegram for speed, email as the written record.
One habit to pair with it
When you set an alert, write the action next to it, not just the price. "XAUUSD < 4800 → check for a reaction candle on the 1h, then decide." An alert that fires with no plan attached is just a more efficient way to panic.
