How to Set a Gold Price Alert on Telegram (Free, No App)

Gold moves when you're not looking. It grinds sideways for three sessions, then rips 2% during the London open while you're asleep, and by the time you open the chart the entry you wanted is gone.

The fix isn't watching harder. It's getting a message when your level actually prints. Here's how to set that up in about two minutes, for free, without installing anything.

Why Telegram beats a broker alert

Most broker platforms can alert you — but only while their app is open, or only on the one device you set it on, and usually only for instruments that broker carries. A Telegram alert lands on your phone, laptop and tablet at once, survives you closing the terminal, and works the same whether you're tracking XAU/USD, BTC or Brent crude.

Step 1: Decide the level, not the feeling

Before touching any tool, write down the actual number. Not "alert me if gold breaks out" — that's not a rule a computer can check. Something like: tell me if XAU/USD trades above 4200, or below 3950. The upper level is your breakout confirmation; the lower one is where your thesis is wrong. Two numbers, one rule.

Step 2: Build the rule

On DoneRoad, pick the asset (XAU/USD), pick the operator, type the price. Then add a second condition with OR so a single alert covers both sides of the range:

XAUUSD > 4200 OR XAUUSD < 3950

You'll see a plain-English preview of what you just built — "notify me when gold goes above 4200 or below 3950" — so there's no guessing whether you set the logic backwards. If you want a stricter trigger, switch OR to AND and combine markets: gold above a level and the dollar index below one, for example.

Step 3: Connect Telegram

Link your Telegram once and every alert you create from then on gets delivered there. You can add email as a backup if you want a written record.

Step 4: Set it and leave

This is the part that actually changes your week. Once the rule exists, you don't need the chart open. No refreshing, no "let me just check quickly" at 11pm. The alert either fires or it doesn't.

A few rules worth copying

  • Range break: XAUUSD > [range high] OR XAUUSD < [range low] — catches whichever side gives first.
  • Buy-the-dip: XAUUSD < [your level] — a single condition, for when you only care about one direction.
  • Cross-market: XAUUSD > 4200 AND BTC < 78000 — for risk-off setups where you want both signals before you act.

DoneRoad is free while in beta — unlimited rules across crypto, stocks, forex, metals and oil. Set your first gold alert at doneroad.com and go do something else.
